Muslim 2723
Abdullah reported that when it was evening Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) used to supplicate: (Muslim 2723)
Asbahna wa-asbahal-mulku lillah walhamdu lillah, Laa ilaha illal-lah, wahdahu la shareeka lah, lahul-mulku walahul-hamd, wahuwa ‘ala kulli shayin qadeer
Rabbi as’aluka khayra ma fee hatha-alyawmi wa khayra ma ba‘daho, wa-a‘oodhu bika min sharri hatha-alyawmi washarri ma ba‘dahuRabbi a‘oothu bika minal-kasal wasoo-il kibar rabbi a‘oothu bika min ‘athabin fin-nar wa ‘athabin fil-qabr.
Meaning: We have reached the morning and at this very time unto Allah belongs all sovereignty, and all praise is for Allah. None has the right to be worshipped except Allah, alone, without partner, to Him belongs all sovereignty and praise and He is over all things omnipotent. My Lord, I ask You for the good of this day and the good of what follows it and I take refuge in You from the evil of this day and the evil of what follows it. My Lord, I take refuge in You from laziness and senility. My Lord, I take refuge in You from torment in the Fire and punishment in the grave
Abu Dawood 5068:
Allahumma bika Asbahna Wa bika Amsaina Wa bika Nahya Wa bika Namutu Wa ilaykal Nushoor.
Meaning: “O Allah, by your leave we have reached the morning and by Your leave we have reached the evening, by Your leave we live and die and unto You is our resurrection“
Masnad Ahmad 406/3:
“Asbahna ‘ala fitrat-il-Islam wa ‘ala kalimat-il-ikhlaas wa ‘ala deeni nabiyyina Muhammad, sallalahu ‘alayhi wa sallam, wa ‘ala millati abeena Ibraheem haneefan musliman wamaa kaana minal-mushrikeen.
Meaning: We rise upon the fitrah of al-Islam, and the word of pure faith, and upon the religion of our Prophet Muhammad (SAAW) and the religion of our forefather Ibraheem who was a Muslim and of true faith and was not of those who associate others with ALLAH.
Abu Dawood 5084:
Asbahna wa asbahal-mulku lillahi Rabbil-‘alamin. Allahumma inni as’aluka khayra hadhal-yawmi: Fathahu wa nasrahu wa nurahu, wa barakatahu, wa hudahu, wa a’udhu bika min sharri ma fihi wa sharri ma ba’dahu.
Meaning: We have started a new day and with it all dominion is Allah’s, Lord of all being. O Allah, I ask You for the good in this day: it’s victory, it’s help, it’s light, its blessings and its guidance. I take refuge in You from the evil that is in it and from the evil that follows it.
Muslim 2726:
ASubhaanallaahi wa bihamdihi: ‘Adada khalqihi wa ridhaa nafsihi, wa zinata ‘arshihi wa midaada kalimaatihi (3x)
Juwairiya reported that Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) came out from (her apartment) in the morning as she was busy in observing her dawn prayer in her place of worship. He came back in the forenoon and she was still sitting there. He (the Holy Prophet) said to her:
Abu Dawood 5078:
Allahumma inni asbahtu ush’hiduka wa ush’hidu hamalata ‘arshika wa malaikataka wa jami’a khalqika annaka Antallahu la ilaha illa Anta Wahdaka la shar?ka laka wa anna Muhammad-an ‘Abduka wa Rasuluk. (4x)
Meaning: O Allah! As morning dawns upon me, I bear testimony before You and before the angels who carry Your Throne and all Your angels and all of Your creation that truly, You are Allah, there is no god but You, The One and Only God without any partner, and that truly, Muhammad is Your special devotee and Your Prophetic Messenger.
