1. سَبِّحِ اسْمَ رَبِّكَ الْأَعْلَى
87|1|Praise the Name of your Lord, the Most High.
2. الَّذِي خَلَقَ فَسَوَّى
87|2|He who creates and regulates.
3. وَالَّذِي قَدَّرَ فَهَدَى
87|3|He who measures and guides.
4. وَالَّذِي أَخْرَجَ الْمَرْعَى
87|4|He who produces the pasture.
5. فَجَعَلَهُ غُثَاءً أَحْوَى
87|5|And then turns it into light debris.
6. سَنُقْرِئُكَ فَلَا تَنْسَى
87|6|We will make you read, so do not forget.
7. إِلَّا مَا شَاءَ اللَّهُ إِنَّهُ يَعْلَمُ الْجَهْرَ وَمَا يَخْفَى
87|7|Except what God wills. He knows what is declared, and what is hidden.
8. وَنُيَسِّرُكَ لِلْيُسْرَى
87|8|We will ease you into the Easy Way.
9. فَذَكِّرْ إِنْ نَفَعَتِ الذِّكْرَى
87|9|So remind, if reminding helps.
10. سَيَذَّكَّرُ مَنْ يَخْشَى
87|10|The reverent will remember.
11. وَيَتَجَنَّبُهَا الْأَشْقَى
87|11|But the wretched will avoid it.
12. الَّذِي يَصْلَى النَّارَ الْكُبْرَى
87|12|He who will enter the Gigantic Fire.
13. ثُمَّ لَا يَمُوتُ فِيهَا وَلَا يَحْيَى
87|13|Where he will neither die, nor live.
14. قَدْ أَفْلَحَ مَنْ تَزَكَّى
87|14|Successful is he who purifies himself.
15. وَذَكَرَ اسْمَ رَبِّهِ فَصَلَّى
87|15|And mentions the name of his Lord, and prays.
16. بَلْ تُؤْثِرُونَ الْحَيَاةَ الدُّنْيَا
87|16|But you prefer the present life.
17. وَالْآخِرَةُ خَيْرٌ وَأَبْقَى
87|17|Though the Hereafter is better, and more lasting.
18. إِنَّ هَذَا لَفِي الصُّحُفِ الْأُولَى
87|18|This is in the former scriptures.
19. صُحُفِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ وَمُوسَى
87|19|The Scriptures of Abraham and Moses.
